Joan was recognized by her husband to be The “Wind Beneath His Wings”. Together they raised their children to know and appreciate the love of God.
Her childlike faith allowed God’s light to shine brightly through her beautiful blue eyes. Joan’s love and appreciation for the fullness of life and the joy in her heart rained upon all who came to know her. The special love she gave to everyone came full circle as she felt the reward of holding her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in her loving arms. She shared her journey and the path to a life well lived with friends and strangers alike.
Joan will be dearly remembered for the immeasurable gratitude to her loving Savior from the scent of a fresh Spring rain to the arduous trials’ life brought her way. She expressed her gratitude by her words, actions, love, kindness, and prayer.
Despite the constant challenges that come with raising seven children, three of which were bound to wheelchairs, mom kept our home warm and loving. She made certain our front doors were always open to welcome neighborhood kids and visiting relatives needing some attention. She provided each of her children individual tender loving care under difficult circumstances. She encouraged us to pray, brought us to church faithfully and showed us how to persevere in the midst of trials. She loved to write poetry and read her bible. We are thankful to God for such a faithful, caring and loving mother.
