Thank you Mrs. Emmerich for treating me like your ninth child considering Dennis & I were twins separated at birth and a good portion of my childhood was spent at your house. I will cherish all the family dinners at the Emmerich household, especially the fried flounder on Fridays during Lent as well as the fried chicken and your amazing chocolate chip cookies. I will never forget you and Mr. Emmerich and will always smile when I think of you. We are sad to lose you but know that heaven is much brighter with your presence. I cannot begin to express my sadness over the news of your dear mom's death.  Yet I am so happy to have known her my entire life.  She and my mom Sophie walked to Church every day together with all of us kids in tow (and some in carriages). They raised all of their children together, since many of us were born in the same years.  And they could talk for hours! It gives me comfort to know that they are both together in heaven and are picking up where they left off. Your mom is a beautiful person, very loving and caring! I will miss her very much. I share your grief, as no bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you -- two, in fact -- your dad and your mom. Please know that I will personally tend to the rose bushes up at the Church that your mom so tenderly transplanted last year so they could get more sun and thrive. My family's deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. God bless you, Nora.  Rest in peace.

I am heart-broken over the news of the greatest woman I ever met since I moved to Deer Park as a child in 1989.  We first met when she was my substitute teacher in the Deer Park School District and stayed in touch all of these years, always meeting up and catching up at the 7AM mass.  She was such a model in piety, her head bowed over the Magnificant.  She was always such a loving and supportive friend and we always shared a laugh or two.  I could always count on her when prayer was needed. She is an enormous loss to the parish of Sts. Cyril & Methodius and to the Deer Park community.  Her presence will always be felt whenever sitting in St. Cyril.  Dear Mrs. Emmerich, I will never, ever forget you!
