Lillian Elaine Bond was born November 12, 1931 in Norfolk Virginia. She was the daughter of Joseph Williams and Annie B. Brown. Lillian was called to the Lord June 24, 2022, while residing in Conyers, Georgia.
She graduated in 1949 from Booker T. Washington High School. On November 12, 1949, she moved to New York with her mother, her sister Constance and nephew Ronnie. Lillian lived with her mother until her marriage to her childhood sweetheart Russell Bond on March 31, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY.
They were blessed with two children, a son Darryl and daughter Patricia.
In 1950, she began working at Queen’s General Hospital Center in Jamaica, NY. She worked there as a nurse’s aide for many years. In 1980, she attended school to become a Maternal Child Care Technician, and loved working in Labor and Delivery until she retired in 1994.
During her retirement years, she worked as a substitute teacher’s aide at Deer Park H.S.
In 1996, Lillian received salvation and was baptized at Upper Room . Tabernacle in Dix Hills, NY.
Lillian remained extremely independent and self-sufficient into her 80’s. She loved going to Silver Sneakers exercise class and being the self-appointed “mayor” at her apartment complex.
Lillian leaves to cherish her memory: two children, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
