Laura was born in Queens to her parents, John and Barbara. A 1975 graduate of Deer Park High, Laura met her love, Frank and they married in 1979. They chose to remain in Deer Park and make it their home where they raised their own family as they welcomed their children Meghan, Ryan and Shana. For many years, Laura ran the food and beverage concession at Babylon Bowl where Frank coached young bowlers. Later, daughters Meghan and Shana would join their mom in their first jobs at Babylon Bowl. After raising her children, Laura moved into Finance as a Special Projects Coordinator for Sunrise Credit Services in Melville.
While Laura worked very hard in business and caring for her family, she also found her fun and passion right at home in her family and her friends. Her favorite job was being a wife and mother, and “Mimi” to little Charley and R.J., her grandchildren. But, she so enjoyed being around cars, which she has done since her teen years. Her most prized possession is her 2016 Mustang. Laura loved attending car shows with Frank, her family and her friends – just spending time being among car people. Laura was a beloved friend to so many – and will be deeply missed.
Laura is predeceased by her father, John Anselmo. Surviving is her beloved family – her husband, Frank; her children – Meghan Miller and son-in-law, Robby; Ryan Kase and daughter-in-law, Amanda; and Shana Weber and son-in-law, Rob; her grandchildren, Charley and R.J. Miller; her brother, John Anselmo; and her mother, Barbara Anselmo.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 3rd from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. and in the evening from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 4th at 9:15 a.m. at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church in Deer Park. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Laura’s name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. https://www.kidney.org
