Virginia Lanter, 88, of Decatur died Tuesday, August 16, at her residence. She was born and raised in Illinois where she met her husband, Murray Lanter. They moved to Decatur, Alabama where they spent the remainder of their lives. She was a home maker and worked at J.C. Penney and H & R Block.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years.
She is survived by a son Terry (Sandra) Lanter; daughter, Gayle Lanter; and grandchildren, Chris Lanter, Alex Lanter, and Stephanie (Patrick) Schefano. She had a kind, gentle spirit and she will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Riverside Senior Living and Decatur Home Care for their kindness and care during her time there.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 20,2016 at Roselawn Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home.
