She was born in Somerville, AL in June of 1930 to Wilma and Jim Eubanks. She had five sisters, Myra Bond, Nell Rogers, Bobbie Doss, Dean White, and Wilma Pressley. She married Frank Roberts Jr. (Dude) in 1947. She loved him truly and her rewards are in heaven. She was a faithful and loving mother to Marchetta Johnson and Frank Gates Roberts III (Gail). She was grandmother to Hunter Johnson (Gabriella), Gates Johnson (by whom she was predeceased), Judith Park (Brantley), and Sam Roberts (Erin). She was a true matriarch. A mother figure to many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and students. She loved her family fiercely. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all of her heart.
She loved God and she put others before herself. She was a servant leader. She loved the under privileged because that is where she came from. She was generous. She bore fruit. She loved to play hymns on the piano and sing. She loved parties, night swims and card games with family and friends. She loved watching her grandchildren playing ball and performing. She would not miss a game or event. She was full of life and joy and could crack a joke with the best of them. She was funny. She was a faithful friend. She was tough. She would endure. She ran a good race. She would sacrifice for others. She would silently give.
We will miss her. We treasure the memories we have together. We have hope beyond all understanding that we will see her again in the presence of God. Communion of the Saints. Thank you maw for all that you did for us.
Service will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home Monday February 13 at 1:00. Visitation will begin at noon.
