Mrs. Higgins was a Bindary Supervisor at Tennesse Valley Press (TVP) where she was employed for over 40 years. She loved cooking, gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her son, Rickie Higgins (Rebekah) ; two grandchildren, Bailey Higgins and Sam Higgins ; step-grandson, Chris Sparkman all of Decatur and sister, Josefine “Pepi” Bechtel Leiss of Germany.
Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Hans, Karl, Fritz and Heinrich Bechtel and three sisters, Juliana Schmid, Amanda Dittmann and Maria Wohr.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday August 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
