Larry Wayne Coleman passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the age of 68. Larry was born in Moulton, AL to Robert and Addie Coleman. He attended Speake High School where he enjoyed playing basketball which was his passion. He moved to Neel, AL where he has been a resident for the remaining years of his life. Larry enjoyed his career at Monsanto as a lab technician and retired in 2001 after 35 years of Service. He coached little league basketball for years for the Neel Saints and one year for the Speake Bobcats. Larry loved all college/pro football and basketball games, but his main love was for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Back in the day, his home was open to all church/school kids. There was never a dull moment from pranks, rolling yards to backyard games. He truly enjoyed entertaining the kids or them entertaining him. Larry will always be remembered as a loving father and husband and leaves us rich in memories.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents,; wife, Linda Thompson Coleman, Baby Coleman, Flora Hinkle, Melba Kirby, Art Coleman, Essie May Coleman and Hazel Johnson.
Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia Coleman, daughter, Robin (Joe) Fuller of Statesboro, GA, step-daughter, Rita (Wayne) Hopper; His feline babies, including special friend, Tarzan; grandchildren, Mallorie (Anthony) Dowd of Swainsboro, GA, Nicole (Daniel) Rodewolt of Clyo-Kildare, GA and Andrew Yancey of Hartselle, AL and Five great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00am at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with a time of visitation from 9:00am until 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, ASPCA or Hospice of the Valley.
