Judy Kay Crelly (Lowe) passed away on March 7, 2023 in Decatur, AL at the age of 69. She was the loving wife of the late George Patrick ("Pat") Crelly, Jr., devoted mother to Jovita (Sean) Tucker, Rachel (Chuck) Bell, Wesley (MaryAnn) Crelly, John Crelly, Jacob Crelly, Sharon Crelly, and doting "Grandma" to Michael (Cheyenne) Tucker, Brandon Tucker, Christian Bell, Mirabelle Crelly, Lilia Crelly, and Ian Crelly. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Violet Lowe, sister Lola Bell Lowe, brother Donald Lee Lowe, grandparents Ernest and Daisy Hiner and John and Margurite Lowe, brothers in law Terry Cayton, Ron Webb, Steve Crelly, and Tom Crelly. Visitation will be held at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church on Monday, March 13 at 11:30 am, followed by mass at 12:30 pm. Burial will be at Decatur City Cemetery next to her beloved Pat.
Judy was born on July 31, 1953, to John and Violet Lowe in Edler, Colorado. She was very close to sisters Peggy Webb, Mary Lou Cayton (Dean), Lois Cayton and brother Paul (Billye) Lowe. She spent her early years in Edler, CO and moved to Keyes, OK with her family in 1960. She was a member of Pep Club, Library Club, and played basketball for Keyes High School, graduating in 1971. She worked at B&N Cafe after school and during summers. After high school, she worked at T G& Y discount store, where she met her future mother in law, Neletta Crelly, who introduced her to Pat. They married on May 18,1974 in Guymon, OK. They started their family in Stillwater, OK with oldest child Jovita, and then moved to Wichita, KS in 1978. There they had their next 2 children, Rachel and Wesley, before finally settling down in Decatur, AL in 1985, where they rounded out the family with three more children John, Jacob, and Sharon.
Judy was extremely devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was always baking many different types of cookies, cakes, pies, breads, and other sweets to share with everyone. Not a day went by that she wouldn't bake something for the family to snack on at the table. Her family will never forget the special foods she prepared during the holidays, such as her made from scratch egg noodles and dumplings. She was gifted at crocheting, knitting, and sewing. The house was always full of homemade blankets, clothing, trinkets and crafts that she would make to give as gifts to her loved ones. She enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the country with her family. As den leader with the Boy Scouts of America, she wore many hats while supporting her children through scouting. She was also very involved at St.Ann's Church and School, as well as Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church in Decatur.
Judy will always be remembered by her gentle and quiet, yet independent spirit. She never asked anyone to help her nor did she want anyone to do things for her as she did for others. Her unconditional love will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
