James W Vance Jr. of Decatur, Alabama passed away on November 29, 2022 at 3:15 PM. A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Saturday, December 3 at 2:30 PM. Tim Sutton will be officiating.
James is preceded in death by his father Major James W. Vance, SR. and his mother Mattie Louise Barbee Vance, RN and nephew David Lee Robinson of Columbus, Ohio.
James is survived by his sister Celia Louise McIntyre Of Columbus, Ohio and sister Virginia V. McGhee of Decatur Alabama, and nephew Frank William Robinson of Columbus, Ohio and niece Vanessa Louise Collins of Decatur Alabama, and several cousins.
James was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on October 27, 1941. Jimmy was a quiet man who didn’t have much to say. But Jimmy was an Avid Reader who had read literally “Millions” of words which were committed to his near photographic memory. So, if you asked him about almost any subject he could discuss it at length with you.
We will miss you our dear brother and Uncle Jim. We love you. GOOD NIGHT SWEETHEART.
