Graveside service for Gertie W. Sanders, 96, formerly of Decatur, will be today, April 10, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Formby officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sanders, who died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at her daughter's residence, was born February 24, 1916, in Birmingham to Lawson Allen Wilson and Lillie Morrison Wilson. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oval Sanders; and two brothers, Allen and Paul Wilson.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat Sanders Aldridge of Union City, Tenn.; two grandsons, Brian Aldridge and Jason Aldridge, both of Union City and 10 great-grandchildren.
