Evelyn Yates Hyde, 95, of Decatur, passed away on Friday April 26, 2019. Her visitation will be on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Her celebration of life service will begin at 12 noon in the chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Bryan Blass officiating. She will be laid to rest in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Evelyn is survived by her children; Stan Hyde(JoAnn), and Susan Emmons, grandchildren; Kristi Hyde, Brian Emmons, and Michael Emmons. One great-grandchild; Delaney Emmons, Numerous nieces and nephews. Sister, Floyce Sumners, and brother James Yates.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Era Yates, one brother, and four sisters.
Evelyn was born in Woodland, Alabama January 13, 1924, graduated from Albertville High School and married Bill Hyde in lieu of attending Snead College on a scholarship. She worked at Grants Department Store and as a physicians receptionist. She was a loving mother. And was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church for sixty years, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Central Baptist Church Library, or Hospice of the Valley.
Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
