Doris Jean Hargrove Hames

Graveside Service for Doris Jean Hargrove Hames 84, of Decatur will be Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Roselawn Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Hames was born February 26, 1932 in Benton, IL. to Robert Ellis and Clevie Reed Hargrove. She was the youngest of 9 children. Mrs Hames was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, Lena Somers, Betty Canaday, Thelma Bolerjack and Helen Williams; 4 brothers, Evan, Charles, Robert and Norvel.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Franklin; 3 daughters, Pamela (Darrell) Milligan of Decatur, Diane (Greg) Couch of Hartselle and Lori (Doug) Cummings of Huntsville; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Milligan, Samantha Whitaker (Brad), Joseph Whitaker (Andrea), Rebecca Mitchell (Stephen), Cessily Daniel and Kaitlin Couch all of Decatur; 4 great-grandchildren, Marqus Dunn, Cameron Allen, Kirsten Whitaker and Riley Mitchell all of Decatur; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs Hames was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, she was a Christian and loved singing and had a beautiful voice. She also loved to pull pranks on her family. She will be missed.
