Deborah Marmann Miller, 64, passed away in her home surrounded by family on January 21, 2025. She was born to Richard A. Marmann, Sr. and the late Anne Turman Marmann in Decatur, AL. She graduated from Austin High School, Calhoun Community College, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville where she received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice.
Deborah was a loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter who always put others first and brightened the room when she walked into it. Her love for helping others was not only put into practice as a wife and mother, but also as a nursing instructor at Calhoun Community College. She taught thousands of nurses over her 25 year career at Calhoun and inspired them to make a difference and keep their ducks in a row. When not working, she enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood, cooking, going to the local farmers market, and cheering on Mississippi State in football and baseball.
She was preceded in death by her mother Anne Marmann and her brothers Michael Marmann and John Marmann. She is survived by her father Richard A. Marmann, Sr., husband Gary Miller, son Sam Miller (April), and her 8 brothers and sisters, Teresa Dawson (Dennis), Richard Marmann, Jr. (Sandra), Mary Lynn Bronner (David), Robert Marmann (Sue), Linda Bryan (Craig), Patricia Marmann, Charles Marmann (Karla), and David Marmann (Angie).
Her visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 24th at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, AL, and her funeral mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 25th at Annunciation of the Lord Church in Decatur, AL.
