Danny Ray Muse, a proud son, parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent, peacefully passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 65. He was known by many names, including Danny Ray, Pops, and Big Pawpaw. He was larger than life at 6'5" but equally humble. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, protection, and the value of family.
Danny was born on May 9, 1958, in Florence, Alabama. He was the son of Roscoe Earl Muse and Claire Belle Muse. He grew up in Florence and graduated from Wilson High School. He was residing in Decatur, Alabama, at the time of his passing.
Danny worked in the construction industry for many years and was currently employed at River City Roofing Solutions. He was also a talented woodworker who loved to create things for his family. He will be remembered for his gentle giant personality, always sporting a smile and a good-natured joke. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 6-8 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 6 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Auburn University Foundation. Danny is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter, 4 brothers, 9 grandkids, and 1 great-grandkid, with another on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.
