Funeral for Charles Henry Lindsey, 87, of Trinity will be today, July 8, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lindsey, who died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at NHC of Moulton, was born October 7, 1923, in Decatur to Henry Hubert Lindsey and Katie Hawkins Lindsey. He was a retired pipefitter, a Methodist and a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW and American Legion and former member of Decatur Tennis Association and Point Mallard Golf Association. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry H. Lindsey; mother, Katie Hawkins Lindsey DiGiovanni McClanahan; brother, Ralph W. Lindsey; sister, Sandra DiGiovanni Rauch; and stepfather, Dominick DiGiovanni.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elna Jane Jewell Lindsey; two sons, Charles Wesley Lindsey and Kendall Edward Lindsey (Carol); and two grandchildren, Jonathon Clay Lindsey and Zachary Adam Lindsey.
