Carol June Bogle Terry, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Carol was born in June of 1931 to Ernest and Goldie Bogle of Trinity. She was the oldest of eight children. She majored in Secondary Education at Florence State Teachers College and went on to enjoy more than 30 years of teaching. She ruled her classroom with a firm but loving hand, and truly had a gift for teaching and a love for children.
She married the love of her life, Leonard Bailey Terry, on April 10, 1953, at Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ in Florence. They were blessed to enjoy 59 years of marriage together. She is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Bogle and mother, Goldie Evelyn Roberts Bogle; one sister, Mayme Bogle Slaten; and two brothers, James Bogle and Joseph Bogle.
Carol was a faithful member of New Antioch Church of Christ for many years. She was a devout Christian whose faith was a central part of her life. She loved to copy Bible verses and fill notebooks with Scripture excerpts. She loved thrift stores, yard sales and bargain shopping. She loved to laugh and adored playing with her grandchildren.
Carol leaves behind her beloved husband, Bailey; her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Amanda Terry of Milton, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Bobby Lewis of Milton, Fla.; two grandsons, Clay Terry and Rivers Lewis and one granddaughter, Morgan Terry.
Funeral will be Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Stephen Seibert officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 6;00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
