Betty Ann Kieffer Sellars, 81, died April 6, 2017. She was born in New Orleans, LA on November 11, 1935. She married the love of her life, Walton William Sellars, on May 18, 1957 in Poplarville, MS and was happily married for 60 years. She graduated from John McDonogh High School in New Orleans, LA; then received a “P.H.T.” Degree (Pushing Him Through) from LSU for standing by her husband during his college years.
They lived in Slidell, LA and Bowling Green, KY, then settled in Decatur, AL. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She was an active PTA president, Girl Scout troop leader, band booster mom, bible school teacher, expert seamstress, and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was an Avon Representative for the past 40 years achieving many awards for sales and excellent customer service. Betty enjoyed LSU football, and more than anything else, loved her family and cherished spending time with them. They were members of Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Walton William Sellars; daughters Cheryl Smith (Wes) of Madison, AL and Stacie Granberry (Rob) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Tori Smith Gryder (Michael), Abby Granberry, and Grayson Granberry; and sisters Neva Frazier and Gail Ryder (Lewy). She is preceded in death by her parents William Joseph Kieffer Sr. and Odette Marie Heriard Victoriano, and brother William Joseph Kieffer Jr.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Decatur General Hospital and everyone for their many visits, prayers, and support.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Decatur at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
