Winnie Mae Estep was born on August 21, 1933 in Eastland, Tennessee. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, May 10, 2021. Winnie moved from Tennessee to Dayton, Ohio and married Richard Winningham on August 30, 1952 where they planted the family roots. Richard and Winnie had two daughters Teresa (Ed) Jones and Vivian (Pete) Slivinski. Richard passed away in June 1992. Winnie remarried William "Richard" Estep in July 1997 and has two step daughters Jamie and Amanda.
Winnie was a member of Way of the Cross Church for 60 years where she was a very active member. Winnie was the church organist for 29 years, Sunday school teacher for many years and Treasurer of the Benevolence Fund. Winnie spread the Word of the Lord everywhere she went and was very dedicated to serving the Lord and her family. She loved her children and all of her grandchildren as they were the loves of her life. Everyone enjoyed her cooking especially her chicken and dumplings. Stories have been told by everyone remembering Winnie for her good looks, contagious smile and referred to by many as an Angel.
Winnie is preceded in death by her parents Lou and Stanton Lewis, siblings Imy, Thomas "TW", Joe, and Stanton. Her husband Richard Winningham and favorite granddaughter Amber Greer. She is survived by her husband, daughters, and three favorite grandchildren Michael, Amanda (Brandon), Petie (Lindsay), five favorite great-grandchildren Corey, Kelsey, Tatum, Remington, and Liliana, one favorite great-great-grandson Theodore, two favorite brothers Steve (Linda), Dewey (Gracie), numerous favorite nieces and nephews, many other loved ones and step-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 5:00PM-7:00PM Friday, May 14, 2021 at Way of the Cross Church; where funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, May 15, 2021 with Pastor William Loudermilk officiating. Burial will follow in the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
