Lewis, William B., age 90, of Kettering, Ohio passed away on July 16th at Hospice of Dayton. Bill is survived by sons, Bob (Linda); Dennis and Paul, all from Kettering, Ohio; one daughter, Paula (Carl) Kipp from Lake Orion, Michigan; eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren with the eighth great grandchild due in December. He is also survived by a brother Chuck Lewis of Troy, Illinois and sister, Rita Baumgartner of Alma, Illinois. Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Geneva, son, Gary, and brothers, Roy, Bruz and Les. Mr. Lewis was born on August 23, 1924 in Troy, Illinois to Roy and Mary (Capelle) Lewis. In 1942 he joined the United States Navy where he served in the South Pacific during WW II. After returning home to Illinois he and a good friend moved to Dayton, Ohio where he worked at Monsanto as a security guard. He progressed his career by becoming a tool designer upon completion of trade school. He retired from Laughter Corporation after more than 30 years of service, where he always enjoyed helping with the annual Bogie Busters Golf Tournament. Bill was a sports enthusiast playing basketball and baseball in high school. He was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the University of Dayton Flyers. He also loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Family picnics, outings with his family and friends and traveling brought him great enjoyment. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at St Albert the Great Catholic Church.
