William Charles Harding

Harding, William C., died peacefully on February 26, 2017 at the age of 90. Bill was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1926 to William J. and Florence Taggart Harding. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1945 and served in World War II in the Army Air Corps. Bill studied Civil Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia (Pat) Harding, and lived in Kettering, Ohio since 1958. He is also survived by his three children Bridget (John) Beck, Shannon (Paul) Duffy and Brady (Nicole) Harding, seven grandchildren Adam (Stephanie) Beck, Jay (Jena) Beck, Brent (Karissa) Beck, Colin Duffy, Meredith Duffy, Jack Harding and Madison Harding, and two great-grandchildren Nora Beck and Pace Beck. Bill was an active member and 9:30 Mass usher at St. Albert the Great Church in Kettering. He was a salesman for over 40 years, the last 36 years in the electronics industry. Bill served as the Ohio delegate to the Electronic Representatives Association and served on the Board of Directors for the National Electronics Show Corporation. He retired from the business he co-founded, Shamrock Electronic Sales in 1991. Bill helped manage the Beanie Bowler senior men’s bowling league and a senior men’s golf league that golfed at thirty different courses around the area every Tuesday. He co-managed a local arm of Toys for God’s Children, a charitable group that made small wooden cars for children in third-world countries. Bill was widely known for his St. Patrick’s Day appearances in full Irish regalia. Pat and Bill were avid travelers visiting 70 countries over 35 years including taking their grandchildren to Europe, Asia and Australia.
