HEDRICK, Willa H. left an enduring legacy in her field of medical technology by helping to establish education centers first in Manila, Philippines and later at Kettering Medical Center. She died on October 9, 2018 at the age of 93. Willa Hedrick was born in Portland Oregon and began her post graduate education at Walla Walla University in the State of Washington. She finished her degree at Loma Linda University outside Los Angeles while her husband was in medical school. In later years, she received a Master’s Degree in Education from Wright State University. She was a life-long member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church having served as a missionary for them in Manila for 10 years. She was committed to her church, classical music and many charities, dedicated to her work and education, and proud of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Elvin C. Hedrick. She is survived by her three children Merideth Trott (Richard Perna), Priscilla Brunner (Keith) and James Hedrick (Mary); six grandchildren, Kimberly Taylor (Jon), Alex Brunner (Laura), Cassie Brunner, Jason Hedrick (Sarah), Brandon Hedrick (Kellie) and Andrew Hedrick (Jennifer); her brother Earle Hilgert; and her soon to be sixteen great grandchildren. Services celebrating the memory of her life will be held at the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church at 4 pm on November 17, 2018. Friends may visit with the family after the service in the Fellowship Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Neighbor House or to Hospice of Dayton.
