Mark, so sorry to hear about the loss of your father.  I have memories of seeing him outside in the driveway working on things.  I hope that your memories of your Dad bring you comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We send our sincerest condolences.  We feel so fortunate in having been able to share some good times with Will.  

One of our fondest memories is of a visit.  We were sitting in the sun enjoying stimulating conversation, only to find that one of us had missed a scheduled appointment!  

He was so interesting and always had some words of wisdom.  He will be remembered and missed.

It's -40 degrees outside. Breath hangs in the air like the memory of your Dad that hangs peacefully over me. His quiet departure seems so characteristic. My mind is turning corners now where memories of our families unravel and swirl: the usual summer days at the lake, sailing, swimming, and enjoying all the ordinary adventures toward which children gravitate as parents wait to see how it all turns out. They could hear before we did--thunder from a distance, a threatening wind--and so begin to round us up like horses running this way and that which they were trying to corral. Often we'd end the nights listening to Dad read ghostly tales from Edgar Allen Poe with lightning bugs flickering all around. We were rich in experiences. Beyond the literal landscape of our childhood—the one we saw every day—there was the ideal landscape that lived in our minds. We explored the differences between the two, knowing that we could have lives as cowboys at Dew Downs, be fishermen of great open waters, or take on mountains as intrepid hikers. I never once had an experience without seeing in those things the love of life and confidence of our fathers' characters. What they couldn't see, they imagined. What they didn't know, they learned. What they didn't have, they built. They sought to know the nature of their own labor, how far they could push themselves, how strong they were, where they were weak, and what work gave them the greatest satisfaction. They valued community, close kinship and the presence of family. All these things were fostered, in one way or another, in their children. Our Dads not only provided a house and a yard, but a place we began. And by building their lives, they framed the rest of ours. 

I hope my life speaks well of your Dad as much as my own. For me, there has been no greater privilege than watching our parents love their children.

 I am so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Will was such a wonderful, kind soul. Every time he would stop at Amco Products for a visit was a special day for each and everyone of us.
His smile and stories of old days will be missed immensely.
