GILMORE, TOMIKO, age 78, passed away on Friday evening, August 26, 2022, with her daughter at her side. She was born on March 9, 1944 in Yamanashi, Japan. She is preceded in death by her mother, Koharu Dobashi, her loving husband George Gilmore and her brother Kasauki Dobashi. She is survived by her loving and devoted Daughter, Ruby Tibbs-Mahone, Son-in-Law James A. Mahone Jr., her Granddaughter Deanna Mika Mahone and Grandson Andre Leysath-Jones (Damian), her step son Dan Gilmore (Holly) and all of her family in Japan.
Tomiko became a practicing member of SGI-USA on March 15, 1960 and her practice remained strong for 62 years. She was an active member until her illness no longer allowed her to practice. When she could no longer offer Gongyo and Daimoku, her daughter would play an audio recording which brought her peace and comfort during her last weeks of life.
Her greatest joy was her Granddaughter Mika and her beloved pets Charlie, Mimi and Baby.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm at the Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio. The Funeral Service will be at 6pm on Wednesday. M. C. is Yuko Weaver and the Officiant will be Kazumi Makowski. Burial will be on Thursday September 1, 2022 at 10 am at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St., Dayton, Ohio.
