I knew Tom years ago in middle school .  Moved away from Centerville in 1974 but remember him and brother Rick well. Great guys and really good athletes . Peace and Love to his family .

My deep condolences, love and prayers to my dear friend Mary Jo, Michael and Sarah and the entire Delaney family. Tom was a one-of-a-kind human who had the gift of humor and shared it abundantly. 
I had the great blessing to visit and pray with him a few weeks ago. Tom, you are now pain free, forever at peace and in your eternal  heavenly home. RIP friend.  You will be greatly missed. 



My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I remember as a kid, along with my brothers, Denver and John, would get together with the Delaneys as my parents were good long time friends with Bob and Sally. So sorry for your loss. 

I was blessed to know Tom Delaney, he was my friend, he was my brother, we spent so many wonderful times together.  
We first met in the 5th grade playing Wee Elks football.  He was something amazing to watch, even then everyone knew Tom was a exceptional, gifted athlete.  But beyond that he was an exceptional friend, a special soul and his friendship was unconditional.  So many wonderful memories together that bring a smile to my face.
I am saddened and struggling with his passing.  Mary Jo, Michael, Sarah, family and friends I cannot express how important Tom was to me and how sorry I am for your loss.  He was truly one of a kind.

Tom front and center following our 1978 regional finals win.  Tom got to anything hit in his general direction…which was anything between left center and right center…amazing range!

On behalf of the Carselle Family, we are all sad to hear of Tom's passing.    Having played and gone to High school with Tom and Rick, seeing Chuck play when I was a Freshman, playing  Football and Baseball for the Centerville High School for 4 years, it is hard to think of a better example of a true Centerville Elk than Tom.  HIs competitive focus, never give up attitude, his compassion towards others, willingness to share credit, and flat quickness and speed are unmatched.  Obviously, Rick was a great player and very accomplished himself, but few can match the way Tom would never let anybody beat him...Hope that all Elks that have gone before him, join him in fielding a Team and whipping up all those in their way!  To Tom's family, our hearts go out to you and hope that the Elk family give you some sense of comfort and pride of what we think of Tom.  Long live #7!  John, Rob, and Elba

My old family friend, it’s been 4 decades, and I remember Tom as others say, hard working, competitive and a family man who would show up at my place to cut the grass and bring the kids to play outdoors, here we are years later and It would seem he was still the man with the great work ethic and pride in his family and job.
Thoughts and memories of all those  times in the younger days

I moved in next door to Tom Delaney and his family 22 years ago.

Several years ago, as I aged, I became a customer of Tom.  He did various lawn maintenance and land scaping activities for me.  Tom loved to work outdoors, and he had a keen eye for detail and quality.  

I also knew Tom liked to prepare food and cook, and that he was good at it.  The past several years during the Christmas Season, Tom gave me a creamed cheese, blue cheese, pecan log.  They were incredibly delicious.

I remember playing on Lake Glen across from the high school. Sarah and I loved to throw football and climb trees and I always remember Tom throwing ball with us and giving us pointers.  Tom was a wonderful father and had such a huge heart.  I always felt comfort with him and Mary Jo. My love is sent to the whole family. 

 Tom was an awesome Teammate who taught us all how to compete with poise, grace, and respect.  May he Rest In Peace.  

I remember first time I met Tom. I was 'baby-sitting " Kevin, Mary Jo and Beth as their parents were out of town. Mick was attending Miami at Oxford. Mary Jo and Tom were in high school and dating and "in love". It was football season and Tom was on Centerville's team and Mary Jo was a Coed. I thought what a cute guy.  As years passed by, Tom was always there at family gatherings participating in volleyball games, singing along with all the cousins, helping where necessary and sharing that gregarious personality and smile. He was simply a loveable human being. God has called you home and I'm confident said, well done my good and faithful servant.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.  I hold fond memories of the quick and scampering quarterback Tom was.  The memories I hold most dear are the hours we shared on our patio.  Tom gave and planted a beautiful Lilac bush for us.  That bush is now the largest and produces the most abundant of flowers, a constant reminder of his kindness.

I’ll always remember Tom when MaryJo and I were returning from our Hilton Head trips. He was usually outside doing something in the yard and he always looked so happy to see MaryJo return. He would help me to unload her things and then repack my car.  So very nice and helpful and you could see how much he adored his wife, MaryJo! RIP! Til we all meet again! ❤️

I'm very sad to learn of the loss of my teammate and friend, our quarterback who piloted those great Elk teams of the late 70's.  To the entire Delaney family, my heartfelt condolences. 

Tom was such a strong and wonderful man. He will be greatly missed.  We will always remember how Silversteins, Delaneys and our family all moved in to the lane about the same time and the Delaney's held the first lane meeting complete with campfire, hay bales, hot cocoa and cider.  Our prayers surround Mary Jo, a strong and faithful wife and their loving children, Sarah and Michael.

Tom was always such a kind, helpful neighbor. He loved the lane. I have many fond memories of times that he willingly jumped in to help me out. He will be missed. My heart goes out to Mary Jo, Sarah and Michael.

Tom was a strong willed, good man who I enjoyed knowing.  I'm pretty sure he knew how to do anything, and he was helpful to me a number of times on projects around the outside of our house. My sympathies go out to his family and friends.
