Long, Timothy Raymond, age 71 passed away on Friday, August 30th, 2019. Tim was a native of Dayton, a graduate of Centerville High School, attended Wright State University. He joined the army upon graduating from high school and served for 3 years as an Army paratrooper and communications expert. He was deployed to Vietnam with SOG, Special Operations Group. Tim was awarded the Bronze Star. After the military, Tim was a Realtor at Irongate Inc. Realtors for many years.
Tim’s passions were hunting, fishing, designing and attending gardens, and studying history.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sydney Canter Long, 2 sons, Sean Tanner Long of Dayton, Joshua Travis Long of Columbus, wife Kelly and 5 grandchildren: Madelyn, Elizabeth, Riley, Aiden and Addison. He is survived by 3 brothers; Alvia David (Carolyn) of Greenville, Steven (Heidi) of Centerville and Mark (Diana) of Dayton, numerous nephews, nieces and their children.
Tim was predeceased by his parents, Alvia and June Long.
Funeral service 11:00 Friday, September 20th, 2019 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428, with Military Honors.
