McLean, Thomas “Tom”, 60, of Warrens, Wisconsin passed away on April 11th, 2016. Tom is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary, and their three children: Elizabeth (Betsy), Jennifer (Jenny), and Edward (E.J.); his siblings Cathy Maginn, Michael “Mickey” McLean and wife Carol, Sally Lindsay, Kelly Wallace and husband Gary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who had the pleasure of calling him Uncle Tom. He was preceded in death by his sister Jean Reardon, brother Edward McLean Jr., and parents Edward (E.J.) and Catherine McLean. Tom has arrived at his eternal rest after a life of cheerful meandering. A resident of Ohio, Arizona, California and Wisconsin over the years, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, being with his family, and taking the path less traveled throughout his lifetime. In recent years, Tom found joy in beating the living snot out of his children at board games, summer bonfires, teaching the family dog to dance, watching his favorite movies on repeat, and spending quality time in his favorite blue recliner. A devoted and passionate husband, Tom found his lifelong love and partner in Mary. Tom would fondly recall proposing to her over strawberry pie at a Big Boy in Fresno, California 26 years ago. Never apart, Tom and Mary exemplified what a marriage should be: a partnership of depthless love, lasting a lifetime. Few people are fortunate to find such a love that lasts a lifetime and a friendship that endures all. His children find fond memories of family trips, learning to drive in the “man van”, earning a variety of colorful nicknames, bonding over vehicular repairs, and playing games and watching movies countless evenings. While Dad seems to be a catch-all title, some of Tom’s most notable roles included life coach, math tutor, handyman, music instructor, mover, art critic, financial advisor, and counselor. Tom was always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear, no matter the time, and his ever ready presence will be missed by all. Tom was an incredibly selfless, loving, hard-working, and dedicated man. He never hesitated to do whatever it took to ensure his family and friends were taken care of. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Tom in his life knows that there are few words able to express the magnitude of compassion he had for those he cared for. To say Tom will be missed is an understatement; his absence is a void in our hearts, keenly felt. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1 PM at the Tobias Funeral Home,3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM- 1 PM Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
