Thomas Karns

Thomas was born on December 3, 1942, in Dayton Ohio to John and Eileen Karns. He was the second of four brothers, but always mom’s favorite. He graduated from Fairborn High School in 1961 and later earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Maryland. Thomas was a dynamic leader, sought after in the injection mold industry with a long-standing career in business development and growth. Thomas served his country as a Special Forces Captain in the United States Army where he served 3 tours in the Vietnam War and was decorated with many accolades such as the silver star for valor, good conduct award, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Thomas lived a life of servitude to his family and friends. His devotion to the Lord fueled his passion for teaching and bringing others to Christ. During his lifetime Thomas served the Lord as an elder and executive pastor which he considered his most important accomplishment.

Thomas was survived by his best friend and partner in crime for 18 years, Rebecca, his daughters Becky and Jerrilyne, his three grandchildren and his favorite fur child Tessa Lee. He is preceded in his death by his parents, John and Eileen Karns and his brother Joseph Karns.

Family will receive friends 11:00AM until time of Memorial Service at Noon, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel. Inurnment to follow the service in the Mount Zion Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life luncheon to follow at the Beavercreek Golf Club Clubhouse 2800 New Germany Trebein Road.
