PULLIAM, Thelma Otella (Russell), age 84, of Beavercreek, OH passed away with her family by her side on January 19th, 2013. Otella was born in Coalfield, Tennessee to the late Sim and Liola Russell on a farm she loved and remembered fondly throughout her life. Otella moved to Dayton, OH in 1947 to join her brother who had recently returned from World War II. Once in Dayton she worked for NCR for a period prior to meeting her husband and moving onto her life’s work, raising her family. She was preceded in death by her husband John E. Pulliam, siblings Sanford, Josephine, Chalmer, Ross, Austin, Rozella, and Richmond Russell. She is survived and sincerely loved by her six children, Thomas Pulliam (Brenda) of Melbourne, FL, Connie Davies (Ron) of Centerville, OH, Ronald Pulliam (Cindy) of Melbourne, FL, Sandra Wright (Ken) of Dayton, OH, Steve Pulliam (Lori) of LaGrange, GA, and Kathy Young (Greg) of Columbia, SC. She was a devoted Grandmother to fourteen Grandchildren Michelle, Chad, Scott, Kim, Laura, Ryan, Kyle, Jennifer, Travis, Jonathan, Joe, Jason, Garrett and Connor, and fourteen Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings Mitchel Russell of Mt. Sterling, KY, Marilyn Ooten (Garland) of Douglasville, GA, Gary Russell (Cheryl) of Douglasville, GA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a woman of unquestionable faith and character, a Mother to the neighborhood, a southern cook who fed all who entered into her home. She enjoyed spending time with family, laughing, playing games, sewing and teaching her children the life skills to encourage their success. Her family was her pride and joy, she touched us all and we are forever grateful. Family and friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Road, Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 5to8 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 9:00 am with Pastor David McClellan officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Dayton, OH.
