Cleveland Browns’ number one fan, and retired reimbursement specialist, Steven Michael Newton’s love of life did not come to an end with his death. Steve (Mike) passed away on May 14th, 2021 at the age of 67, surrounded by loved ones who will honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Preceded in death by his parents, Warren (Pete) Newton, Connie Aubry, Step Father Rev. Richard Aubry, father in Law Terrance Knight, uncle Ron Burns, and beloved son, Kevin Michael.
Survived by his wife of 38 years, Suellyn, daughters, Lisa (Tony), Erin (Greg), grandchildren, Tyler, Landry, and Camellia, aunt Maleeta (Charlie), mother in law Marillyn, Step Mother Donna. Brothers Bruce (Sandy), Andy (Jenny), in-laws Merryly, Terry (Karen), Max (Kris), Tom (Karen), Barbara (Jeff), Bob, Jim (Tara), and numerous nieces and nephews.
His gentle nature and thoughtfulness shone in all he did, always giving 100%.
Steve (Mike) began his career at St. Elizabeth Hospital (Franciscan Medical Center) until its close in 2000. He later retired from Premier Health as a Reimbursement Specialist.
His greatest loves were his family, reading, golf, music, brewing beer, gardening, sports of all sorts and especially, the Cleveland Browns.
He enjoyed attending the many festivals around Dayton, Celtic Fest being a true favorite, and was never one to turn down a good beer tasting event.
His favorite times were spent right at home with family, including Family Football Sunday’s and the Annual Labor Day Cookout where he loved to be master of the grill.
In his spare time he worked relentlessly to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society after the death of his son.
Family will receive friends at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20th, 2021. A Celebration of Steve’s Life at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21st, 2021at the funeral home. Rev. Brad Lewis officiating. Final resting place at Calvary Cemetery.
