I met Cathy the first day of high school. She sat down beside me and said “Hi, I’m Cathy.  That’s all it took to have a long lasting friendship. I will miss her laugh and our hanging out together. We had some great times together. I’ll think of her often and talk to her in heaven. Love you always my dear friend. ❤️

We love the comfy quilt Cathy made for our family as we welcomed our first Baby Scheidt (Reilly) in 2018. What a treasure to have and we've had beautiful memories of our babies in the living room on that quilt. 

Baby Anna Scheidt finally got to meet Cathy in fall of 2020 when we showered Sarah as she and Drew prepared to welcome Gwyn! Cathy was always so sweet and caring to our children and we're thankful we are a part of her and her family's journey! I am particularly thankful for her as she was a second mother to my husband Nate for many years. ❤️ 

Cathy was  so nice to me and my family, and always fun to talk to. One of my favorite memories of her was when she dog sat for our dog Scruffy. We forgot to tell her how spoiled Scruffy was, so when we got home Cathy let us know that the dog had really made herself at home there. One night Cathy was looking for her and found her all curled up in bed, under the covers! It was the way she told the story that had me cracking up. I’ll really miss having conversations with her. My deepest condolences to her family.

I have so many great memories of my Aunt Cathy , from listening to Elton Jon and the Police scratching her Albums when I was little and i wanted to listen to what she  listen too when she wasn’t home,then chopping off my hair all by myself when I was 4 or 5 because she had a pixie and I wanted to look like her. Vacations we took when I was young then she had Katie and that was the most exciting time ! When I was a rotten teenager  she came and rescued me and my friends in Columbus at 4 am in the morning that was the kind of person Aunt Cathy was I could call her and she save the day!  Her sarcasm and laugh will be missed and our phone conversations since i moved out of State. 

My heart is with your family Cathy…and with all your many friends. They, like me, will never forget you. I am so grateful to have lots of sweet memories to hold tightly. I will miss you so much and always love you.

From the first time I meet Cathy we had a special connection. I felt I already knew her from hearing  so much from Aimee.  We would randomly text each other something goofy that made me giggle and Aimee would ask who I was texting and I’d say Cathy…she would shake her head as to know we were talking about something “weird” we both liked. Every McDermott get together we would always go right to each other and immediately start right back up. I’m gonna miss her although we only saw each other a couple times a year. My heart goes out to Kate,Andrew, Deb and Vic for the loss of such an individually special woman.

My sympathy n heartfelt condolences for Cathy*s friends n family. 
Cathy was a good friend at St Anthony*s. Seventh n 8th grade, a bunch of us girls would go to Cathy*s house on Hodapp for lunch every day. We thought we were the cool kids. 
We had talked n tried to plan a day to get together. Sadly, our lives got away from us, n it never happened. 
She left us way too soon.
