Burgess, Sophie, age 87 of Dayton passed away Wednesday evening, February 8, 2012. Born in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Emily and Louis Perkosky, she is also preceded in death by her husband Gerald W. Burgess; sisters Victoria Bascelli and Elizabeth Wasowicz; brothers Joseph, Charles, and Ralph Perkosky; and grandchild Kevin Koesters. Sophie is survived by her 3 daughters: Leslie (David Cruz) Meyring, Sue Murphy, and Jennifer (Mike) Koesters; 5 grandchildren: Meaghan (Gregory Cox), Austin, and Dylan Murphy, Jonathon and Jeffrey Koesters; and one great-grandchild, Anderson Cox. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 830 Bowen Street, and the burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may visit at the Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave., Monday evening from 5 to 8PM. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or March of Dimes.
