Sheila Ruth Denney

DENNEY, Sheila Ruth nee Marcum, 86, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Oak Creek Terrace. She was born January 26, 1930, near Stearns, KY., the daughter of Claude Vitas Marcum and Alta Marie Marcum. Sheila was a teacher and began her career in a one room schoolhouse in Kentucky; she retired after teaching fifth and sixth grade for twenty-five years in Jefferson Twp. Schools. Sheila was always an active member of her Southern Baptist church, with a special heart for teaching English as a second language. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Denney on July, 17, 2007; brothers Kenneth Marcum, and William (Bill) Marcum; sisters Barbara Souleyrette, Patricia Marcum, and Claudette Holiday Loy. She is survived by three children, David Denney of Coon Rapids, MN; Scott (Deborah) Denney of Lakewood, OH; Donna (David) Mathews of Xenia, OH. Five grandchildren, Jesse (Annie) Brown, Rachel (Nate) Sowder, Caitlin Denney, Meredith Denney, Laurel Denney. Also survived by a host of other family and friends. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, Ohio.
