In loving memory of Shawn Michael Moore, born May 12, 1972, who peacefully passed away on October 27, 2023. He was born in Newport, RI, and moved from base to base as a kid while his father was an active member of the United States Navy. The family moved to Centerville, Ohio when his father retired from the Navy. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1991 and went on to earn his CDL to begin his career with Bonbright Distributors.
Shawn was a loving husband, and father to twin daughters whom he loved dearly. He was so very proud of his girls. He met his wife Amy 27 years ago and they just marked their 24th wedding anniversary on October 9th. He was a kind, funny, and loyal man who was always there for his family and friends. He was also a diehard Cleveland Browns fan in good times and bad (mostly bad). He was hardworking and built strong friendships with many of his colleagues at work, having remained with the same company for over 27 years. Shawn was a resilient man who faced multiple health challenges during his life that were beyond his control, yet he persevered after each setback. While many would have been defeated by these challenges, Shawn got up, moved forward with life, and strived to be the best husband, father, son, brother, and friend he could be. Although he was on the quiet side, he possessed a wonderful sense of humor that could make everyone laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Moore, who was the love of his life; twin daughters, Morgan and Riley Moore, whom he adored; his loving parents Tom and Mary Moore, who were always there for him; a protective big sister Erin (James) Squance; and his loyal little dog Izzy. Shawn also leaves behind multiple extended family members who were all dear to him.
A remembrance of Shawn’s life will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave Dayton, OH 45429. The family will receive visitors starting at 5:30pm, with the service to follow, beginning at 7:00pm. Condolences may be shared at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
