Samuel Dennis “Sam” Bassett, age 65 of Russells Point, formerly of Dayton, passed away Dec. 10, 2018. Sam was born Jan. 30, 1953, beloved son of Sally J. Izor and the late Robert Bassett Jr. He was a 1972 graduate of Fairview High School. Sam was engaged to his loving caretaker and best friend, Lesli Creech. Together they shared their love of fishing and boating at Indian Lake. Sam was a specialist at small engine repair and owned his own business in Russells Point, Sam’s Mowers. He was also employed at AAA Dayton Emergency Roadside Assistance for many years. Sam was a loving son, fiancé, brother, uncle and a loyal friend to many who will be missed by all. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sally and James Izor; fiancé, Lesli Creech; two sisters and their husbands, Debbie and Ronald Deichler, Sally and Steven Beaty; two nieces and a nephew, Sarah Aisenbrey, Katie and Alan Dosky; two special friends, Marvin and Mike; and many other dear family and friends.
