She has joined her husband, Donald "Smitty" Smith in Heaven. Rose is also preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Ola Mae Baker; sisters, Donnie True, Peggy Steuble, Linda VanWinkle; and by a brother, Lefty Baker.
She is survived by her two daughters, Terri (Michael) Milling and Bobbi Jo (Bob) Hoak; four grandchildren, Joe Milling (Mary Beth, great grandson, Mac), Scott Milling (Shelby Frideger); Melissa Crum (James, great granddaughters, Addison and Palmer); Danny Milling (Jackie, great granddaughters, June and Bexley). Close friends Myra Roeckner and Vivian Johnson.
She was a member of Church of the Cross United Methodist Church. She worked at Kettering Hospital for 25 years and Miami Valley Hospital for 15 years.
Funeral services Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Tobias Funeral Home (Far Hills Chapel - Rahn Road). Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am; service to follow. Pastor Scott Cable will be officiating. Interment Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
