Miller, Rosa Lee, of Tipp City, Ohio, formerly of Englewood, Ohio reached her heavenly home on June 22, 2017. Her faith and trust in God sustained her through 97 years. The youngest child of Cleo and Lena Cast, she was born in 1920 in Wilmington, Ohio. She was a graduate of Jewish Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1941. She loved being a nurse, whether it was as head nurse of the emergency room at Grandview Hospital or managing the office and surgeries at Dr. Wilson’s Eye Center, she was loved and respected for her professional integrity. In 1978, her lifelong dream of becoming a realtor started her second career. Her success as Broker/Realtor was a result of her positive outlook, don’t quit attitude, treating every client like family and helping others reach their goal of home ownership. When she finally retired at age 84, her extended family included former clients and co-workers, many who remain faithful and true friends. She loved to travel and her adventures took her cruising to Hawaii with her sister Viola, wading barefoot in the Seine River in Europe, and riding cross country in a dog sled in Alaska. She also served on a medical mission team in Ecuador. She loved “just because” calls, butter pecan ice cream, mystery trips, and greeting cards (that she never threw away). With an always present smile and hugs that she saved up, the often repeated declaration of love was “I love you bushels and bushels and more than that”. The blessing of her love and devotion were her testimony as a single Mom raising the six daughters of her former husband, Charles H. Miller. Rosa Lee is remembered and cherished by her girls: Charlene Moderwell, Rebecca Cales (Gary), Peggy Flinn (Mike), Barbara Hjelmstad. She mourned the loss of daughters Marjorie E. Lee in 1982 and Rose Marie Citti in 2001. She is also loved and treasured by her 14 grandchildren: Jason Mayville (Shauna), Amy Schaaf (Eric), Kim Arndts (Brian), Marcy Lee, Dan Lee (Patti), Rosa Chappell (Jared), Meilssa Brookman (Wes), Jennifer Cales, Natalie Wills (Scott), Emily Eike (Steve), Megan Runkle (Caleb), Tracey Flinn, Jesse Hjelmstad (Jena), Sarah Hjelmstad. Her legacy continues with her 20 great grandchildren: Makayla Grace (deceased) Gabriel, and Kaylynne Mayville; Brianna and Bailey Schaaf; Shelby and Emma Arndts; Kristina Lee; Benjamin, Julianna, and Isabella Lee; Jarod Pirdy; Jordan and Ryan Lee; Shannon and Jacob Wills, Lucas and Norah Runkle; Elsa and Abram Hjelmstad; and one great-great grandchild Jackson Pirdy. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of New Carlisle, 8870 State Route 571, New Carlisle, Ohio 45344, with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Miami County.
