Shubert, Ronald J., died peacefully in his sleep on the morning of July 24, 2015. Ron touched everyone he met with his smile and made everyone feel welcome. Ron was born March 29, 1936 to Anthony & Bertha Shubert in Ashtabula, Ohio. He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1954 and continued his education at Fenn College, now Cleveland State University, and graduated with a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering in 1959. He went on to pursue his Masters of Science Degree at The Ohio State University and graduated in 1967. Ron married his high school sweetheart Carolyn (Lago) on June 15, 1957. They just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last month. They moved to Dayton in 1959 when he accepted a job at NCR Corporation. He worked for them for 33 years before retiring in 1992 from AT&T which had recently purchased NCR Corporation. Ron was a past member of the Electrical Engineering Club of Dayton and the Washington Township Lions Club, he was on the advisory committee for Sinclair Community College and an active member of St. George’s Episcopal Church. Ron had a passion for travel, loved boating and fishing and was very proud of his Thanksgiving tradition of making donuts with his grandchildren. Ron is survived by his loving family, his wife Carolyn, daughter Karen Carney (Tom), Son Kent (Cindy) and 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Jennifer, Alex, Caroline & Allyse. He is also survived by his Brother Alan Shubert (Jessie), sister and brother in law June & Chuck Spring and special nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. George’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ben Phillips Officiating.
