Ronald L. Mock, age 66 of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully Monday, July 28, 2014 at Sycamore Hospital while surrounded by family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Neil Mock and step-father, Patrick Burns. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris Braun Mock and their three children: Terri Hyman and husband Eli of VA, Robert Mock and wife Renee of Beavercreek and Joe Mock and wife Lesley, also of Beavercreek. He is also survived by his mother, Harriet Burns; three granddaughters: Madeline Mock, Rachel Hyman and Sophia Mock; two sisters, Kathy Burns and Colleen Burns; a brother, Patrick Burns and his wife Ruth; and two sister-in-laws, Rita Braun and Marilyn Braun. Ron was a member of the first graduating class of Carroll High School in 1965 and a graduate of Sinclair Community College. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Richmond K. Turner (DLG 20). He was employed for 30 years at GM and Delphi as an Engineer. His lifetime hobby was model railroading and he was a volunteer for 30 years with Carillon Park Rail and Steam Society where he served as its President for 12 years. He was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and VFW Post 8312. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432 on Sunday afternoon, August 3, 2014 from 2-5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr. Dayton, OH 45420 at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 4. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 9:45 AM Monday morning. Interment will be in Dayton National Cemetery.
