Vines, Robert “Bob” L., age 60 of Centerville passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2022. He was born in Dayton to the late Evelyn and Ernest Vines. Preceded in death by his twin sister, Jane Vines, brother John Vines, and niece Elizabeth Zainey.
Bob was survived by his two daughters: Rachel Vines (Michael), and Alecia Vines; Sherry Vines; his siblings Beth Zainey (David) and Wes Vines (Marianne); sister-in-law Jan Vines; grandchildren: Cayden Vines, Easton Webster, and Eva Webster; 7 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews and other family members.
Bob was 1980 graduate of Centerville high school and graduated with his bachelors from Bowling Green State University. Bob was a longtime employee of ProSeniors, based in Cincinnati. He was passionate about his work advocating for the elderly and enjoyed it immensely. Bob had a love for music and loved playing his guitars. There wasn’t a song he wouldn’t sing along to. He was also an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals fan, rearranging all his afternoon or evening plans to make sure he was home in time for kick off. He also never missed an elks kick off, baseball game or dance recital if he could help it. Papa Bob, or Pabo as the grandkids called him, was the first to suggest a trip to the candy store, a walk to bills donuts, or a trip to Carillon Park. His two daughters and three grandchildren were his entire world, continuously proving over and over how he really was the ‘best dad ever’. Bob was a very loving and caring person who’s laughter and silly sense of humor was infectious to all those around. He will be greatly missed by those who were lucky enough to have known him.
Visitation will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel from 11-1pm on Friday, January 6, 2022, with the service starting at 1pm. Burial to follow. Bob's wishes were to have a green burial. He will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery, St. Kateri Preserve, which is land conservation acreage set aside for those desiring a natural burial. It is a peaceful countryside setting; an uplifting, slightly wild and beautiful place – a perfect place to rest in peace.
