Dr. Robert Dale Stout

STOUT, Robert Dale MD, age 83 of Centerville, Ohio passed away Friday, March 29, 2013. He was born July 10, 1929 in Brookville, Indiana to the late Clifford and Emma (Hyde) Stout. Bob was a 1947 graduate of Springfield Indiana High School; Indiana University in 1951; and the Indiana University Medical School Class of 1954. He worked at Cook County Illinois Hospital in 1954 and served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958. Bob worked at Charity Medical Center from 1958 to 1976 and was the Director of Hematology and Oncology at Dayton Children’s Medical Center from 1976 to 1998. He was Professor of Medicine at L.S.U. and Wright State Universities. Bob was a member of Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Cancer Group, and the American Academy of Pediatrics and Phi Beta Kappa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Bruns in 2012. He is survived by his wife Janice Stout of Centerville, Ohio; three sons, David Stout (Nan) of New Orleans, LA, Brian Stout (Karen) of St. Louis, MO, and Kevin Stout (Amy) of New Albany, IN; brother, Jim Stout (Juanita) of Bath, IN; and grandchildren, Melissa Stout, Ellen Stout, Zachary, Abbie, Keaton, and Clinton Stout. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Road, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm.
