Robert "Bob" Alfred Shawhan

SHAWHAN, Robert Alfred ”Bob”, age 82 of Bellbrook, Ohio. It is with great sadness that we announce Bob’s peaceful passing on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 surrounded by his family. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Elaine (Haywood); son, Brad (Patricia) Shawhan; daughter, Lisa (Chris) Holmes; and granddaughters, Megan Shawhan (Zach Troyer), Shawna (Jesse) Kidd, and Celia Shawhan. He was eagerly awaiting his first great-grandchild, expected by Shawna and Jesse in May of this year. Bob has now joined his parents Alfred and Maxine Shawhan; sister, Judy Bryan; and in-laws, Russell and Thelma Haywood. Bob was extremely proud of his family, and could often be found boasting about his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. His granddaughters fondly remember that Grandpa was always there to cheer proudly at their events, spending many hours driving to attend every orchestra and band concert or dance recital they performed in. He graduated 1956 from Fairmont High School and 1961 from Miami University. Bob was a proud lifelong Dayton Resident. He was an original member of Sugar Valley Golf Club, where he could often be found practicing his game and playing golf with his buddies at the club. He also loved spending time with his family and friends skiing, boating, bicycling, and entertaining them with his witty observations. Known as “The Dean of Real Estate”. Bob was recognized for his caring support and guidance of many Dayton-area families throughout his 40+ years as a realtor. Joined by his wife in business, Bob and Elaine were sincerely appreciated by many happy clients as a true advocate throughout the home buying or selling process. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 125 N. Wilkinson St., Dayton, Ohio 45402, where Bob was a long-time member.
