LEWIS, Robert (Bob) Lee, 81 of Dayton, Ohio joined God’s kingdom on April 10, 2012. He was born December 19, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa. Son of the late Fred and Francis (Knight) Lewis. Preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Susong, Dorothy Wood, and Nancy Grow. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn (Schamp) Lewis; son Brent of Bellbrook and daughter, Brenda (Frank) of Dayton; sister, Mary Miller of Brookville; six grandchildren: Cathy, Mike (Amber) & Julie Lewis; Nathan, Sarah, and Adam Benedict; one great-grandson, Dillon Dabe. Bob graduated from Parker-Cooperative High School in Dayton, Ohio. He worked hard to achieve the position of project engineer, retiring from Globe Tool and Engineering. His love for nature and the outdoors led Bob to achieve the Boy Scout Eagle rank at the age of 16. His life was filled with all sports: Golf, basketball, softball, volleyball, and table tennis. He participated in the Senior Olympics for the last 20 years, earning many state and national gold medals. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Normandy United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10 am. Burial following at David’s Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio. The family wishes to thank the Alzheimer’s Association and Hospice of Dayton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the aforementioned or Normandy United Methodist Church.
