Heaven got brighter when Rita Martha Berry entered the Kingdom of God on December 17, 2018. At age 85, Rita passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family members. She was raised in the St. Joseph Orphanage (Dayton) with her brothers and sisters. Rita worked at Dayton Power and Light for several years where she met her husband Bob. She devoted her life to raising 6 children, taking care of her husband Bob for almost 60 years and practicing her Catholic faith. She was the nicest person you would ever hope to meet. Rita was always in a good mood, known for her sense of humor, possessed a truly kind heart and loved being with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Josephine (Wapplehorst) Deppen, husband Bob, brothers Joe and Leon Deppen, sister Lucille (Carroll) Lachat, sister Dolly (Carl) Nock, brother-in-law Bob Bean, brother-in-law Joe (June) Berry, brother-in-law Paul Armentrout, sister-in-law Hope (Bill) Kane, and brother-in-law Dan Berry. She is survived by her sister Mary Bean, sister-in-law Bobbie Deppen, sister-in-law Jean (T.K.) Deppen-Wills, sister-in-law Shirley Armentrout and sister-in-law Julie Berry. Children Bob (Pam) Berry, Becky (Doug) Tipton, Bill (Michele) Berry, Dan Berry, Jim (Lisa) Berry and Kathy (Paul) Wyatt. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren, Lauren (Vanni Bucci) Berry, Whitney (Tyler) Rhinehart, Mathew Hanes, Doug (Nikki) Tipton, Michael (Emily) Tipton, Jacki (Will) Wilson, Jessica Tipton, Emily Berry, Erin (Cody) Taylor, Alex Berry, Brittany Berry, Breanna (Kareem Tawfik) Lustre, Allie (Derek) Reynolds, Skyler Coleman, Brent Wyatt, Alec Wyatt and Jessica (Forest) Kunkel. She was double-blessed with 8 great grandchildren Luca Bucci, Pietro Bucci, Dean Tipton, Barrett Tipton, Kyleigh Tipton, Nora Tawfik, Ben Tawfik, Camilla Reynolds, and a 9th on the way. Gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, December 22,12:00 pm, followed by Memorial Service at 1:30 pm at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hill Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH.
