Upon his return from active duty service, Dick met the love of his life, Jane Clare Hughes. Dick and Jane were married on June 28, 1958 at Westwood United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Church and fellowship were always very important to Dick and it showed in his service as a Sunday School teacher at Normandy United Methodist Church and then as a Deacon and Sabbath School teacher at Kettering Adventist Church. Dick never knew a stranger and was never shy about telling someone about his faith.
He spent 30+ years with Tyco Grinnell Corporation and won the Eagle Award for being the #1 Salesperson in the Nation.
Dick regularly vacationed at Torch Lake in Northern Michigan from childhood on and retired there with Jane in 2000. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, and rooting for The Ohio State University but most of all he loved God and his family.
