Richard L. Beckett, age 69 of Kettering, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Pauline (Lewis) Beckett. He is survived by three children: Aaron Beckett, Brett Beckett and wife Emma Harrison-Beckett, and Taylor Fraley and husband Jerrod. Four grandchildren also survive him: Harrison L. Beckett, Ivy E. Beckett, and Hunter and Jacob Fraley, as does a brother, Ronald A. Beckett. Richard loved many sports, especially football; he was an avid University of Michigan and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He also loved to play golf, ride motorcycles, hunt, and camp, but especially reveled in snow skiing. He was also proud to support all branches of the US military. He retired from GM following 32 years of service at the Needmore Road Assembly Plant, first working on the line and later as an electrician. Friends may visit with his family from 2 – 3:30 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Springboro Cemetery Chapel, 2348 Lower Springboro Rd. 45066. Graveside services will be held at the cemetery at 3:30 PM on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 W. Whipp Rd.
