Warner, Rex E., age 87 of Beavercreek, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Berlin J. and Chloe L. (Sleppy) Warner. He is also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers-in-law: Sibyl (Vere) Baker, Rhoda (Junior) Ullery, and Mary (Herb) Baker, a sister-in-law, Janet Dietrich, and a nephew, Michael Dietrich. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Gloria M. (Dietrich) Warner; a daughter Melinda (Jim) Robbins of Beavercreek, OH; a son, Robert (Lisa) Warner of Hagerstown, IN; three grandchildren: Ben (Margaret) Warner, Neal (Kortnee) Warner and Paul (Audreyalice) Warner; two great-grandsons, Oliver and Paul and a brother-in-law, Dale Dietrich. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Janet (Nevin,deceased) Hess, Doug (Judy) Baker, Gene (Martha) Ullery, Virginia (Jack) Royer, Norma (Wally) Ballinger, Daryl (Julie) Ullery, Galen Ullery, Lynn (Mary) Ullery, Marion Ullery, Roxie (Roger) Bowyer, Doug Dietrich and Debbie (Mike) Creech, as well as many loving cousins, especially Jayne (Charles,deceased) Strain. Rex was a graduate of West Milton High School and the University of Louisville. He was a teacher, coach, and Athletic Director at both Bradford and Beavercreek High Schools, where he had a positive influence on numerous student athletes over the years and with whom he has strived to maintain contact. His desire to do good things is also appreciated in his memberships at Peace Lutheran Church since 1959, and the Beavercreek Lions Club since 1971. Friends may call on his family at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 3530 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11 AM with Pastors Steve Kimm and Carie Hovland officiating. Interment in Valley View Memorial Gardens will follow the funeral on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Rex to Peace Lutheran Church or the Beavercreek Lions Club.
