Rebecca Anne Lamb 75, of Kettering, OH, died December 16 in her sleep surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Marvin Tyler, her sister Debby Seymour (Tyler), and her nephew Brian Vuckovich.
Survived by her husband of 53 years Gary Lamb, her son’s James and Jonathan Lamb, her daughter in law Julia Lamb and grandchildren Jacob and Justin Lamb. Her sister Cindy Stephens and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Computer Science from Bowling Green University. She received her Masters of Computer Science from the University of Dayton.
She worked for many years at Reynolds and Reynold, Mead Data Central and CSC. But she discovered her true joy at the end of her career when she started teaching at the University of Dayton, where she taught Computer Science to many fledgling programmers including her son, Jonathan.
She helped develop and teach the Preschool program “Circle K” that helped many young children learn and grow in their faith as their parents attended the Sunday Services. This program was then spread to other churches in the area. She was active for many years in the Women’s Circle at Fairmont Presbyterian Church and led a circle for a while. She was very involved in all of the activities of her children. She was the head coach of the youth bowling league at Capri Lanes. She was a committee member for the Cub Scouts and very active in the Boy Scouts as the Organizational Representative for the troop that was based at Fairmont Presbyterian Church.
She loved many things such as reading and playing video games with her online friends. She was passionate about genealogy and spent many long hours traveling around to libraries and cemeteries doing research. But her true love was watching and helping care for her grandchildren, Jacob and Justin and her grand puppy Juno.
Visitation will be held on December 22nd from 10:30-12:00 at Tobias Funeral Home (5471 Far Hills Ave Dayton, OH 45429) Services will be held at 12 and burial immediately following at David’s Cemetery.
