I know Dr. Gupta for many years. He was a very caring,compassionate, competent physician. He always had a broad smile and I have never seen him upset or angry and he was well liked and respected by his colleagues . We all will miss him.

I didn’t get a chance to know Dr. Gupta for a long time; as he shared memories, I wished I could have had a chance to work with him and learn from him. His love for his family, his patients and his colleagues was so clear as was his delight in teaching, collaborating, and always his pride in his family.  He was a very special person and it was a blessing to have been part of his journey. My deepest condolences to his wonderful family.

We met Dr. Ramesh Gupta and family in early 1990’s.  We moved from Pittsburgh a few years before, Over the years we knew the Gupta family more closer.  He was such a gentleman, and showed no hesitancy to converse with any person regardless of any status. There are stories after stories how he enquired about people’s health and guiding them to better health. He was deeply religious, and cared about our Hindu Temple, and offered to help and donate for the needy causes. I was on the temple board because of him, I remember asking him the need for funds to buy priests’ desk,  He immediately offered the funds needed.  He appreciated the work someone doing for the temple. I remember sending me card almost every year I was on the board appreciating my work for the temple,  He did not have to do that, but this is the kind of person he was - appreciating and encourging other, He led a very successful and enrichment life with a wonderful wife, Sharda, and loving and caring children Anju and Deepak. He will be deeply missed not only by the family, but the Dayton Indian Community equally,

Dr. Gupta was a wonderful and kind person as well as an incredible emergency physician.  As a  flight nurse way back when in the emergency department at MVH  Dr. Gupta was always reassuring, fun to work with, and so unflappable.  He treated everyone with respect and dignity.  Over the years that never changed, no matter how challenging the situation.  A quiet and calm leader and incredibly smart,  I always looked up to him.   Thank you Dr. Gupta for being such a wonderful part of the team, and for the care you provided to so many people and whose lives you touched.    You will be sorely missed.

Dr.Ramesh Chander,brother-in-law to me left us for his heavenly abode.He will be remembered by one and all who ever met him in his lifetime,as a gentleman,honest,helping,soft spoken,very good in mediciene and finances,clearheaded calm and collected,ready to help anybody and everybody,doing plenty of social work for temples,charity and other philanthropic works.Fighter for his rights,a dedicated husband and father,humble,short on social talk,but with a big sense of humour.He was always a phone call away ,when needed.
His untimely demise has left a big void in the family.Those born wither away with time but their memories remain with us to give us pleasure and pain.He has helped,treated and taught so many people.He founded the Hindu temple of Dayton and continued to involve more people in this pious motive.May his soul attain Moksha

Dr Gupta always cared deeply for his patients, and the staff he worked with.  He went the extra mile in patient care.  One famous story of Dr Gupta was his finding of a patient who was saved from a poisoning by his dedication to finding the source of a heart problem in a very sick patient.  The physicians at the next Department meeting all agreed that no one else would have picked up that event other than Ramesh.  He hosted parties at his house, and made sure the staff were cared for at difficult times, like the holidays.  He had a long and proud career in the Emergency Department. I remember Dr. Ramesh Gupta fondly as friendly person, with a winning smile. He and I did not always see eye-to-eye on some political and social issues but he always listened patiently and made his points with a smile. He was very helpful to everybody. He was very supportive to me at the time of my open heart surgery. On the morning of the surgery, Ramesh and Sharda both came to the hospital and personally spoke with the surgeon, whom they happen to know personally. My wife, Inder, and I feel extremely sad and we will miss greatly that Ramesh is no longer in our midst. We pray that God gives Shardaji and all family the strength to bear the tragic loss.

My heart and prayers go out go out to Sharda and family.  I was so saddened to hear about Ramesh.  He was a kind and compassionate man and very dedicated to his family and his work.  Even though I never worked with him at the hospital,  I spent many hours at his home during my employment with Sharda.  He was always kind and had a smile and greeting upon entering his home.  I feel very blessed that I was given the opportunity to work for him and Sharda, and shared a professional and personal relationship. Very very sorry to hear about the untimely passing away of our Dear Dr.Ramesh Gupta.It’s very very hard to believe that he is no more amongst us and left this world for his heavenly abode.He will be greatly missed by us .
He was a man who was very very helpful to everyone.I remember when I was suffering from acute back problems and was almost ready for Back surgery,I called him about 7–8 years back and discussed with him the same at his residence .After seeing my Reports and MRI ,he advised me against surgery and suggested to consult a particular physical therapist and here I am without any back problem since then. I will forever be grateful to him.
I pray to the almighty that the departed soul Rest In Peace.

We are very sorry to learn about the untimely death of Dr. Ramesh Gupta.    We pray to the almighty god that his soul rests in peace. 
Dr. Gupta was a great person willing to help all of his friends. At number of occasions, he guided my wife to take appropriate treatment for her foot problems.  When she had breast cancer surgery in 2019, both Ramesh and Sharda were there in KMC to provide us moral support.  They were there until Usha came out of the recovery room.  I had lung cancer surgery in Chicago in 2018.   He used to call me long distance in Chicago and provide me tips how to take care of post-surgery problems.  My son Rajat had his shoulder dislocated.  After initial recovery, question came, should he undergo physical therapy or shoulder surgery.  I called Dr. Gupta.  He called us home, evaluated Rajat's shoulder and suggested to avoid surgery.  Great suggestion.  
I summary, we would affirm that Dr. Gupta was a nice and thorough gentle person always willing to help his acquaintances.  His death is a big loss to our community.   We would dearly miss him.

I remember Dr. Gupta with appreciation and fondness. Many years ago, my mother, then in her late 80’s and early 90’s, was his patient in the ER time after time (I counted 16 with an 18 mo. period). Along the way, I found myself under his care once or twice. As a result, I got to know him well.  I have never forgotten his patience and his kindness. His low key, realistic approach and his pleasant smile worked well in the ER environment.  I was always relieved when he appeared from behind the curtain. MVH, his patients, and the community are fortunate to have had Dr. Gupta. To his family and friends, I send my sympathy.

My deepest sympathy to the family.  This is a loss to all who knew him.  I interacted with Dr. Gupta when taking call for the ED.   It was always  good to have Dr. Gupta be the person calling me from the ED about a patient.  His assessment was accurate and his focus was always to help me take care of the patient; an effort he did with such kindness- not only toward the patient, but also toward me, a fellow physician.   Such a wonderful physician and man.

I worked with Dr. Gupta in the Emergency Dept at Miami Valley for 30 years. He was was a good, kind man. My favorite memory of him is how he would laugh at his own jokes, with an enormous grin on his face. He loved to make us laugh. He will be missed. Much love to Sharda and the family.



I am deeply saddened with the passing of Dr. Ramesh Gupta whom I have known since I was an intern. He was one of the best ER docs I have come across!

He always had a infectious smile with a great sense of humor.He was very caring and compassionate. his wife Sharada ran the plasmapheresis program.one of its kind in Dayton singlehandedly for many many years with efficiency. I am very sad to hear of Dr. Gupta’s passing. I worked many hours with him at Miami Valley’s ER 1997-2002. 
He was a very steady presence there who made a great difference in many lives. In both staff and patients. 

He will be missed. 

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Gupta was a very special man. I worked with him for 13 years in the ED at MVH. He was so kind, gentle, and understanding to everyone who he cared for. His smile was contagious! One specific memory I have of Dr. Gupta was when I was testing in ACLS. He was a tough, tough instructor. If you passed the test with him, you knew you had what it took to be a great provider. I left the class that day a better nurse because of him! 

The trauma team was always glad to work with Dr. Gupta. He was helpful, kind and wonderful with patients, staff and other physicians. We will miss him and his ever present smile. 

I am sorry to hear this, it was always a pleasure to work with him. He was a excellent doctor, caring, kind and enjoyed teaching others.  He will certainly be missed. My condolences to the family

I will always remember working with you, your gentle spirit and you taking care of me after our accident shortly after my wife and I got back from our honeymoon.   Our immediate concern was taking care of my wife's broken neck.  Upon leaving the hospital that evening, I realized  that I was never checked out medically and you spent the time with me to make sure I was OK not only physically but emotionally as well.   Such sweet memories!  You will be missed!


I wanted to express my condolences to Dr Gupta's family. I worked with Ramesh in the Miami Valley ED for many years. He was a caring physician who was tireless. No matter how hectic it became in the ED he was always calm, cool and unflappable. There are so many lives who were impacted by his ED service over so many years.
