Phyllis Stewart

Stewart, Phyllis L. (Sims) at age 91, peacefully passed away at her home the morning of June 7, 2021. Born to the late Edward Earl and Adelaide Sims on July 13, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick W. Stewart, a daughter, Nancy Farrier, and a sister, Ruth Bressani.

Phyllis was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Oakwood. She attended Fairmont High School and was in the graduating class of 1948. She married her high school sweetheart and together raised 3 daughters and one granddaughter. Besides being a homemaker for her husband and their daughters she was a "lunch lady" for Kettering City Schools and later, came out of retirement to be "snack lady" for

Christ United Methodist Preschool and Child Care. In her free time Phyllis enjoyed hobbies like painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She and Fred also enjoyed playing Pinochle with their "card club" buddies.

Phyllis was a strong, patient, kind woman whose subtle sense of humor would unfailingly take you by surprise. Everything she did was selfless and from the heart. She wore many titles... Red, Sweetheart, Mommy, Mom, Ma, Grandma, G.G., Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Friend... and she fulfilled them well.

Phyllis is survived by 2 daughters, Ellen Lukjanovs and Brenda (Jim) Elsner, 7 grandchildren Shelley, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Joseph, Andy, Jacob, and Rachel. 7 great-grandchildren and 1

brother Reverend Timothy (Nona) Sims in New Haven, Indiana.

We take comfort that she is reunited with her one and only and that together they watch over us. She will forever live in our hearts and remind us that "it is what it is", "haste makes waste", and "right before the at". ❤❤❤

The family will receive friends, from 12 pm Monday, June 14, 2021 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Avenue Dayton, Ohio 45429 until time of service at 1 pm.
